Tirupati, the holy city is located in the southeastern part of Andhra Pradesh, in Chittoor district. Known as the abode of the ‘Kaliyuga’ deity Lord Venkateswara popularly known as Balaji, Tirupati is famous for the Venkateswara temple in the sacred Tirumala hills at an elevation of 860m. One of the most important pilgrimage centers in India, the temple draws millions of pilgrims and is believed to be the busiest pilgrimage centre in the world. In fact, the government has proposed to give special status to the town on the lines of the Vatican. Lying at the southern tip of the Eastern ghats in Andhra Pradesh, the district has a number of perennial water falls and vast forest cover. Tirupati town itself, has several temples and is famous for its red wooden toys, copper and brass idols. Tirupati has for centuries remained a destination divine and this feeling grows on one as one goes round the various temples and spots of natural beauty surrounding this major town. Around 700 kms from Hyderabad, Tirupati is situated amidst the lush green Eastern Ghats in Chittoor district.

    Day 1
    Arrive Chennai

    Arrive Chennai – the gateway to southern India, established in 1639 by the East India Company, is one of the oldest cities of the country. You will be met by our representative and transferred to the hotel to relax. In the afternoon proceed for a half day sightseeing of Chennai. Visit Government Museum, Fort St. George, Fort Museum, St. Mary’s Church, Santhome Cathedral, Kapaleeswara Temple and drive past Marina Beach. Overnight stay at Chennai.

    Day 2
    Chennai -Tirupati (140 Km/3 Hrs 30 min)

    Drive to Tirupati to have Darshan of Lord Balaji. Tirupati is a temple town known for the famous ancient temple of Lord Venkateswara (Lord of seven hills or Balaji, as he is affectionately known ) on the top of the 860 mts high Tirumala hills. The temple of Lord Venkateswara is not only believed to be amongst the oldest temples in the country, but also the richest of them all. Legend has it that Lord Venkateswara borrowed money from the divine treasurer Kubera for his wedding expenses. He is still paying back this debt which is why the pilgrims donate generously to the temple funds. Overnight stay at Tirupati.

    Day 3
    Tirupati – Chennai Departure

    After breakfast drive to Tiruchanoor,also known as the Alamelumangapuram. The temple of Sri Padmavathi Devi, the consort of Lord Sri Venkateswara is situated here. It is said that visit to Tirumala will be fruitful only after visiting Padmavathy Devi Temple. Drive to Chennai Airport to connect fight to onward destination
